We bought these AMAZING sweatshirts Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: This weekend was non-productive but a great weekend. Featured in this photo is Scottie, Craig and I sporting our 1980-something Seattle Catholic Seamen's sweatshirts. Friday night I worked late and ended up staying in to watch the Haiti Fundraiser show and the last Conan. THis is one of my all-time favorite songs covered by Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris: Saturday was a gorgeous day so I went for a motorcycle ride with my buddy Wayne. Then I got on my scooter and ran some errands. Saturday night my friend Jane had a small group of us over. Her husband made several AMAZING homemade pizzas with the freshest ingredients. We played Rockband after dinner for several hours. A great, relaxing night with good company. For the last couple months, every Sunday a group of us meet for brunch at a restaurant that my friend tends bar at. Since the bar pays the rent for the club, they let the staff and friends come up

Health Month: Mid-month check in

So far this month I have lost 3.5 lbs and feel great! If you read my previous post, I've been in detoxification by not putting alcohol, caffeine and certain foods in my body. Sticking to the rules listed. I'm basically eating brown rice with cooked vegetables a lot! My body and mind feel great but man I miss some stuff. The main thing I learned was that my morning routine for breakfast was bad and not giving me the energy I need to be at my best all day. Going forth, instead of my daily non-fat flavored latte and occasional bagel or english muffin, I will have tea and yogurt with granola for breakfast. This is what I have been having for breakfast and I feel better throughout the day starting with this instead of the latte. You think you need the caffeine but within one week, I have more MUCH energy. Plus I'm saving money!!! $3-4 a day! I learned I have more discipline than I thought. There were several days where people put treats right near my desk and I didn't sneak

Health Month: Mid-week check in

THAT was my last meal before health month: Via Tribunala's SALAME pomodoro (fresh mozzarella, salame) So fresh and yummy! So far health month hasn't been too too bad. I had cravings yesterday for something either salty or sweet but opted for tea with an apple with a little bit of peanut butter. Me doing Health Month isn't necessarily to change my diet. The main reason I'm doing Health Month (two friends created years ago) is to discipline myself and exercise more consistently. Though I'm sticking to the rules, its not about the intake to me- its the discipline. Granted, I'm hoping that minus the bread, alcohol, dairy and so forth with working out that I'll lose a few pounds but I spent many years battling weight issues and found its all about balance. If you want something, enjoy it, just don't overindulge in it. This girl needs discipline and Health Month seems like a good start. I'm drinking more tea right now as I'm fighting a little cold (r

Health Month Begins

Several friends here in Seattle have done this annual event for the last 2 years and I thought they were crazy. Why sacridice things you love. To me its all about balance. BUT I have had a feeling that I need to tone up and get some discipline in my life so I decided to try this year's "Health Month." I will do my best to follow it but will not be too hard on myself or take it too seriously as there has to be balance and a level of sanity if I get a craving. I'm doing it with good intentions and looking forward to challenging myself. It starts today and ends Feb. 1st. This is a birthday gift to my soon-to-be 33yr old body. Here are the rules and per the rules I will blog my weight and mood. As of last night at 10pm, I weighed 126.8, with a body mass index of 24.8 (A BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is considered healthy for adults. A BMI of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, while a BMI of 30 and above is considered obese. People with BMIs of 18.5 or less are considered underwe

2009 kind of sucked. Long hours at work, lay-offs at working of people who are really missed around the office, lame love-life with either non-existent, nothing of substance or consistency, divorces and separations of loved ones, the economy sucking BIG TIME and slacking on my yoga practice the entire year. On a happy note, I found a new love in the scooter life. I love my symba and was happy to take it for a ride on January 2nd. Many great nights of dancing at monthly soul nights and lots of great parties throughout the year. Plus, Seattle has an amazing crafting, small business scene that inspires me to find my niche. New Years Eve was fun though I am not a fan of the pressured holiday. Since I just got back to town and wasn't sure what to wear to the day of the New Years Eve party, I offered to take a role that they needed to filll. I had to dress as a bird and for the 1st hour guide people to the elevator for the 4th floor party. No bid deal. I was like a tin showgirl. Here are

Videos and Photos from my Christmas Holiday, December 2009

Had a great time home as mentioned in previous post. Here are some photos and cute videos to back it up!! I still need to post more from Giggleberry farms, meeting little Luke Kobel and video of Jake eating a lemon. I'll update blog when I do so. Last post of 2009 (a long one)

I am currently in flight back to Seattle as I write this. I am very happy that it didn't take me 3 days to get to PA like last Christmas. I was actually surprised how easy this trip went and on dates closer to the holiday. Sea-Tac was empty when I arrived on Dec. 23rd at 2pm. I was checked in and through security in 15 minutes. Trip home was really nice but the 6 1/2 days went very quick. The highlights- 1 • Christmas at Woodriver Village 2 • Jacob and Marissa's silliness 3 • getting quality catch-up time with Carrie and finally meeting her kids 4 • Knowing my grandparents are not in pain 5 • my mom and her magic 1. We spent several hours Christmas Eve and Christmas day at Woodriver Village, where my grandparents reside in the intensive care area. My mom had chapstick (for all the old people's crusty mouths), homemade chocolate covered treats and hot cocoa to be handed to the residents. Cousin Danny came dressed as Santa, Cousin Peggy was his helper. My great-aunt Estelle p
