SUCCESS: homemade veggie spread

Image
The Irish balls were a complete disaster. I decided to make my veggie cream cheese spread with wheat crackers for our status meeting today. It was tasty! (It goes well with bagels and english muffins too)

Bib #1 and baby shower

Bib #1 Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: This one is for Baby Niko Crane Benson Materials: Oil cloth front and dishtowel on back. Double-fold bias tape for edges, 1/2" Velcro matching threads I whipped this together pretty quick. This was my 1st bib experiment and it came out somewhat okay. I know it looks cute but the stitching wasn't up to par. I had a really rough time working with the bias tape for the edges. Edges are not meant to be smooth but there is a trick I haven't mastered. I have some cute ideas for the next bib project. For the baby shower, I also bought the Bensons a baby carrier off their registry and some children book favorites shown below. Two books I could not get at the store but will order it online are: Popcorn : A Frank Asch Bear Story and Berenstein Bears: Inside, Outside, Upside Down The Benson shower was Sunday and it was a nice relaxing afternoon with great people. Not the winner :(

More than 200 Archstone residents from a variety of states submitted photos that captured what they truly love about where they live during Archstone's Leasing Expo event. This was the photo I submitted. It's my view. I didn't win, but I was one of the top finalists. Winner won a Las Vegas Package including round-trip airfare for two, two nights at Treasure Island Casino & Resort, a massage at Oleksandra Spa & Salon, and tickets to a live show. FAIL: Irish Potato Candy

FAIL: I used the wrong sugar. :( Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: I decided to make the "Irish Potato Candy" that I remember having as a kid on St. Patrick's day, that have tons of coconut in them and actually no potato at all. I could not believe my eyes when the recipe called for 4 cups of sugar. CONFECTIONER Sugar. I accidentally made it with granulated sugar and man did they taste bad. Really bad. And yet some co-workers liked them. FAIL!!! HERE IS THE RECIPE: A cute little confection that looks just like little potatoes. This kind does not contain potatoes; they are made using cream cheese and coconut. Ingredients 1/4 cup butter, softened 1/2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 4 cups confectioners' sugar 2 1/2 cups flaked coconut 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Directions In a medium bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add the vanilla and confectioners' sugar; beat until smooth. Using your hands if necessa

8:36pm at Hossler's place for a Corey night. Originally uploaded by ingopixel We had a Corey Haim night at my house since he passed on Tuesday. We watched the painfully bad movie, License to Drive starring him, Corey Feldman and Heather Graham. Carol Kane is in it too and is the best character.

I need to catch up on a lot of things

I have been super busy but all is good. I need up update my blog but in the meantime, here is a little video of my favorite neighborhood coffee shop. A little farther than UPtown Espresso but I simply like being here. Its in the heart of Belltown, near some of my favorite bars so I run into a lot of people I know. I love the environment and the super nice staff. On the night I had to study for my motorcycle license, after spending the hot summer day learning how to ride in an unshaded parking lot, Jesse, one of the owners gifted me a piece of coconut cake saying I needed "brain food" since he knew I was exhausted. See, now that's a small business I want to support.
