This week has been a busy one!!!!! Along with work, I have had some interesting social events. Monday Ryan was in town touring with Jack White's band the Raconteurs. Him and his fellow crew members wore a "uniform."(SEE PHOTO) I never saw Ryan so dressed up. He looked sharp! I'll post a photo soon! That night reminded me that I am a lucky person. I don't know how things turn out the way they do but I am fortunate to have the experience and situations that have allowed me to meet some amazing people. (especially musicians who top my list) This week, Ryan introduced me to Jack White and Jack was oddly curious of my life in Seattle vs. Philly. I always thought he would be a dick but I was completely wrong! He was so sweet that by the time our conversation ended, I was totally smitten. Super nice guy. I always loved his bluesy, southern rock style but seeing him rock out on the guitar blew my mind! He will be a legend. His two bands are doing great, he did an album

I thought the fine print was the best part.

I'm craving Wawa

Image
I just got home and I'm hunrgy. I'm craving wawa so bad right now. If I was in a Wawa area, I would order a Shortie with smoked turkey, mayo, lettuce, american cheese and pepper. West coast doesn't make hoagies like back east. Its all about the rolls and the rolls stink out here. Cold cuts don't even taste the same so I don't bother. The one hoagie-like sandwich I do get out here has avocado spread & no meat so though it is yummy... i don't consider it a hoagie because East Coast hoagie - meat + Avocado doesn't make sense.

Truly touched by the Dalai Lama

Image
I am sitting here at home wondering if I'll be able to go to sleep tonight. In the past 2-days I have been a part of something amazing called "Seeds of Compassion" and have had the chance to greet the most peaceful, kind-hearted person on the planet.... the Dalai Lama. I am still in shock as I type this. Did this really happen? I found out about Seeds of Compassion (www.seedsofcompassion.org) because they became a client of WONGDOODY. With everything my goddaughter has to deal with at school regarding the unkindness of her peers, this REALLY hit home for me and I wanted to volunteer for the organization. Over the last two days I helped volunteering in different areas for the event. I am so lucky and so blessed to be here in this moment, working for who I work for and being a volunteer for such a meaningful event in Seattle. I am truly touched and the next time I have a negative thought in my head, I will simply recall him smiling at me and shaking my hand. Truly touched.

I wasn't allowed to say "Hate"

I've been super busy so unfortunately I haven't had time to write much. Below are a few commercials my company created that is tied to the Dalai Lama event taking place this weekend in Seattle. Hopefully this cause becomes nationwide and not just a Seattle mission. Check out the videos... I'm proud my company can be tied to this... With everything my goddaughter Kaitlyn has to deal with at school with her peers, this cause hits very close to home for me and that's why I am volunteering for the event this weekend. Like Kaitlyn, I was hassled by girls at school. (luckily I only experienced it in elementary school.) I didn't realize until many years later that rather than talking to someone about tormenting, I took my frustrations out on my sister and cousins and that is why I was such a brat to them when we were younger. The unkindness from the mean girls at school spread to how I treated my loved ones. My mom never let me say I "hate" something and I stro

Aimee, Audra and Karen Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: Last weekend was a lot of fun even though the weather stunk! Saturday I made homemade chicken tortilla chili. It was a success! Then a crew of us started the night at mcleod residence. After some time, a few of us went to shorty's and then 80's dancing next door at buddha bar. A nasty rainy evening turned out to be a lot of fun! All photos from the night: click here! Click here for a slideshow.
