Monday, Monday

Monday, Monday ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba This weekend was a lazy weekend. Friday night I joined my two friends from work and a bunch of people for a happy hour at Fido's Irish pub. Best happy hour food I have had in a while! However, I was hungover Saturday. I laid in bed and watched "Strangers with Candy" which was a funny, yet odd Comedy Central movie. So Saturday was a day of procrastination. Oh I did get to webchat with mom, dad, Jenna and Marissa. I think Marissa is understanding that I am interacting with her. I was kicked offline and several minutes later my mom called telling me to listen. Here Marissa was still sitting in front of the computer calling for me. How cute is that!!!! Sunday I went to the Travel Expo to get info on Australia & New Zealand. Plus I'm considering Hawaii, Disneyland, Thailand, and Alaska as places I want to go while living on the west coast. I also want to visit Iceland, Ireland, Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece and a bun

Aw here comes the sun

Today I got to video chat with Marissa, Mom and Jenna today which was nice. Marissa is getting so big and is ADORABLE! After I got offline, I trecked across the Seattle Center to Easy Street Records in the Queen Anne nieghborhood. I love walking through the Seattle Center because I always stop to see the International Water Fountain & the kids running into it. It was a sunny, 40-degree weather day so a lot of people were out and about. I love watching the kids run up to the fountain trying to touch it without getting wet or runny back and forth until it starts shooting water in the sky. Its so cute. I am now at the coffee shop, loading all my new music into my computer and doing some work. My friends Leanne & Seth are working away at another table with Leanne's dog Bella in her lap. Cathy Beagle would love living in this city. Dogs are everywhere and welcome in a lot of places (if its a well behaved dog) In fact, I heard dogs hang out every now and then at my new place of

Glam-O-Rama Burlesque Show 1.13.07

Me & my friends went to the Glam-o-rama Burlesque show. It was a blast. The girls are entertaining, funny and so talented. It features, Go-Go Amy, Vienna La Rouge, Tana the Tattooed Lady, and a few other entertainers. Seth, Leanne, Daqrby and I landed 1st row seats and Katie was right behind us. It was nice Darby joined us last minute. I told him pasties would make him feel better after the Eagles loss. A photographer snapped my photo at Chop Suey while I waited in line in the gals room. I had to pee so bad, but also look good for the camera. Photo credit: sarahtskinner

Its snowing in Seattle

Okay, so I thought moving out here would be escaping the bitter East coast winters. Oddly enough the last two weeks have been cold and it snowed. Downtown Seattle is in a bubble where we only got about an inch or less, where the suburbs and outskirts of the city got several inches and ice. The cold weather is leaving and now the 40 degree and rain will return. It was nice to see snow. Snow in weather thats not too cold, that you could walk around in. (especially when this odd weather for the NW only last a few days or sporadically) Saturday morning I opened my window to say hello to the space needle and it was snowing. It was so pretty. I decided to stick to my plan and headed outside to run some errands. I walked to the band, the pharmacy and then met my friends for brunch. We sat in the crocodile cafe eating food and watching the snow fall. A lot of people were out n' about, walking their dogs, window shopping. It was pretty cool. Now I just want spring to come!

I don't care that its Friday night and I'm at the coffee shop

I came to the coffee shop tonight to work on my personal design related website. Do you think I got much done. Nope! Did bills, started my freelance taxes, and now posting a blog. Today was a calm day at the office. My team's director, Robert announce he is leaving T-Mobile and we were all bummed even though some of us won't be there either. I learned a lot from working with him. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't have had as good of a chance getting into Wongdoody . He supposibly gave his personal recommendation to the president of the company. He did not have to do that but that was his character. He supported and believed in his team. Granted there has been crazy times at the office but he has been a wonderful leader amongst the craziness. When he knew he had to lose me as a contractor, he recommended to me an amazing company that I have had my eye on for the last few years and I am so thankful of his thoughtfulness . The advantages of taking the bus..... My

Amazon, Apple, iPhone, Aimee

I forgot to mention. If you ever get an amazon certificate, apply it to your amazon right away! I was foolish to use mine as a bookmark and leave the notebook in the pocket of my airline seat. doh! I didn't realize until I was home, in bed about to go to sleep. And of course i could not fall asleep since I lost a $50 certificate! But a friend reminded me that my mom may have the #. Better yet, she was able to go into her account and re-send it. Therefore the one tucked away in the book on the plane would become invalid. Sweet! Amazon rocks! So in two days, I received my certificate and I registered that on the site right away! Today reminded me of the story since I received my amazon card reward. (when you spend so much, you get points towards Amazon.com certificates.) I love amazon.com Today Apple had their new products launched at MacWorld. A iPhone which is AMAZING! Unfortunately it is not available until June on Cingular. I would never pick that carrier but since my plan is up

a case of the Mondays

Image
Uggh its Monday. Before work, my dishwasher leaked on the floor so I had to clean that up and let maintenance know about it. This weekend was nice and refreshing as I got over a nasty head cold. By Saturday evening, my headache and fever were gone, so some friends and I went to the Pink Door Restaurant for the Burlesque show. It was more of a variety show since it had singing and also a male burlesque dancer. It was a fun time. We had perfect seats and they had Seth, Leanne's boyfriend, up on stage to celebrate his birthday. Sunday, I ran some errands, read the design books at the coffee shop and had a relaxing day. I came into the office today to find my cube vandalized by my creative co-workers Wayne and Jeff. That brightened my spirits. I adjusted the rope so I can get in and out easily but plan to keep them up for a while. jeff & wayne pranked me Originally uploaded by href="http://www.flickr.com/people/aimeehossler/">aimeehossler .

the weather outside is frightful but a new job is so delightful

Image
While its 70 degrees on the East Coast, its 46 degrees here in Seattle and windy so it feels even colder. But today is a good day because I got a new job! Since Thanksgiving things have been crazy at work. There were rumors that the company would not have contractors companywide in th new year. I have been there over two years so I didn't know what to think. By the time I left for Christmas I was told the rumor as true, however the good news was that WONGDOODY , the agency that does a lot of T-Mobile's marketing materials would like to interview me. I had wanted to apply for a job there for a while but its a sticky situation since technically they'd be stealing me from their client if they hired me. But when I found out about my contracting coming to an end, fortunately the agency needed more designers full time so I applied. I was home sick yesterday and informed my WONGDOODY contact that I was home sick in case he was planning on setting up the 2nd interview previously m

A New Year... Originally uploaded by robyn w . New years was a good night. I mixed and mingled with people at a Queen Anne House party with my friend Leanne, her boyfriend Seth and a bunch of other people. The Space Needle had great fireworks. Since I didn't take a good photo of the fireworks, much credit to the "robyn w" who posted this great photo on Flickr!) I would of had a front row view from my 13th floor studio, but I chose to party elsewhere since my studio can not really host a gathering of more than 10 people. After the new year I headed over to West Seattle to meet up with my buddy from work and his friends. His friends were super sweet and have great taste in music. I was served the best mojito. New Years started off on the right foot and my instinct is that this will be a good year.
