The City of Coffee

Starbuck’s owner is crazy. After laying off a few hundred last week , today they are closing their shops for a few hours of "Emergency Re-Training". Starbucks nationwide will be closing this evening from 5:30 – 8:30 for “emergency retraining.” Please make the appropriate evening caffeine arrangements. One of Seattle's best coffee shops, Caffe Vita has an awesome responses to that!!! This is what they posted on their website.... In celebration of our highly skilled baristas and the superior quality of our coffee, all Caffé Vita locations are offering complimentary coffee and espresso drinks on Tuesday, February 26, between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. In non-coffee news, check out this cool commercial.... http://www.peliculasponder.com/2004/content/directors/gi_01.htm

Spring is in the Air

I noticed that during my morning commute, 2 blocks have plants lining them. In the last 2 weeks, I can smell the flowers. It smells great and refreshing. Kind of wakes me up and reminds me of how lucky I am and to try not to take the little things for granted. Oh and yes the photo shows that I walk down a big hill every morning... 3 blocks down hill! Luckily my commute back home is more flat!

Great memories help keep us strong.

How we celebrate Valentine's at WD

Eva Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: My team at work gave the Traffic department a Hello Kitty piñata for Valentines. It was filled with candy, chocolate, chips, mini bottles of liquor and condoms. The Traffic group routes all the projects in-between account managers, designers and all other departments to make sure we are keeping things moving and meeting deadlines. Another perk of the day was that Scott got a very special package for Valentine's. My good friend Katie, who recently moved to Chicago, somehow convinced Scott to the following: At her going away party, there was a Christmas party in the next room full of rugby guys. A few looked like they were trying to outdo each other for who could come up with the ugliest holiday sweater. Katie and Scott were joking about it and she asked if she made a Valentine's Day sweater would he wear it at work. He agreed. Scott stuck to his promise no matter how many times we had a hard time taking him seriously with t

I went to my first caucus on Saturday. It was insanely crowded and hot but the vibe was positive. It was actually touching when we all did the Pledge of Alegance, giving me hope for a better America once Bush is out of office. I won't bore you with what went down but it was more interesting than I thought. I will be REALLY happy if Obama or Hillary become president but my gut would like to see Hillary as our president. I know by the amount of people who are head over heels for Obama that he will be the democrat's canidate but she was a great 1st lady, a strong senator and I want to see how far she can go while leading this country. I realy ike Obama but this is why I stand behind H-Dawg (ha ha south park named her that!) – More experience. – She is known on a 1st name basis with world leaders and respected among them. – She has won over Republicans on various senate topics so I can see her being a good unifier. – Obama's main message is "Change"...that's great

Chili-Blowout

My co-worker Monkey (Mark) had organized a Wongdoody Chili-Blowout today at lunch. I'm not a big chili eater and today was an overload. There was 6 crockpots of chilis and an assortment of toppings and cornbread. We all had to vote after tasting them all. I took a few scoops out of 4 of them. Just a few small scoops...... I AM HURTING!!!!!! I think I'm experiencing heart-burn for the 1st time in my life. I want to lay down and go to sleep. I have to yell at Than who made the strongest, most painful one. He was the winner of best tasting and most spiciest. However I did not enjoy his. My favorite pick was Tanya's. Her's was perfect!

How I spent my 31st Birthday

Sunday, I ventured to Crystal Mountain with a few people to go snowboarding. Crystal mountain is about 2.5 hrs south of Seattle in Mt. Ranier National Park. Elevation 7,012! It was a gorgeous day with lots of frest powder. I have never been on such soft powder before since I was use to sheets of snow/ice of Alpental and the mountains in PA. I made it up the two lifts fine. As soon as Wayne turned to head down the mountain I was in shock of how steep it was. I signaled to him a few times that there was NO WAY I was going the route he had chosen. But after a few minutes I followed. Way too many rough tumbles, with one knocking the wind out of me. Shortly after that, I fell off-trail into 4ft of snow. A 5ft person falling into 4ft of soft powder is not a pleasant experience! Especially since my board and feet were about a foot under. I had to shovel myself out. Unlock My bindings, throw the board up on the trail and then attempt to climb 4ft of soft snow back onto the trail. I WAS EXHAUS
