The Non-Stops are Coming!

Image
Our Agency did some Gorilla Marketing for our client Alaska Airlines. I believe its my co-worker Will on the horse, dressed as Paul Revere...promoting Alaska Airlines new non-stop service from Portland to Boston. They also placed hundreds of pink flamingos in a park in Portland to promote new non-stop to Orlando. Pretty cool idea.

San Francisco Trip Two in the Works!

Image
San Fran fog Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: Trip #2 down to San Francisco is in the works!!!! Its a surprise for one of my best friends. I doubt Dr. Kurt reads my blog with his busy schedule of saving lives & giving people new hearts. His girlfriend is trying to round up his friends for a surprise dinner and a Sunday day trip for his big 3-0. I have been wanting to go down so this is a perfect idea. Turns out Casey (a.k.a the North Carolian ex-boyfriend – similar to the ex in "Meet the Parents" who still visits my family and who my mom treats like a son) was going to be in San Fran that week and had planned to come up and visit me for that exact weekend. I told him to stay put and I'll come down there to hang out with him and we can take part in the birthday festivities. My flight is booked. I will be flying in late on a Thursday night. I am planning a massage/spa thing that Friday while Casey is working. I am going to try to meet up with Kurt's gir

Chocolate Covered Pretzels Galore

Image
I'm trying to cook and bake more. Last night I made dark and milk chocolate covered pretzels and brought them into the office today. So far at 9:30am, they are a hit. Good thing, because I don't want to gain 20lbs from eating all of it!

Aimee vs Cable Television

Image
I gave in. After being cable-free in my household for over 7 years, cable will be installed Wednesday. Do I need it? No! But not having a car, the expenses of a car, I decided to try it out and see how I do. Let's see if I leave the house once its installed. As long as I stay productive, I see nothing wrong with vegging out and watching some TV if I want to just relax. My problem is, when I'm visiting my folks...I get sucked in and I DO NOT want to get sucked in! When I am visiting them in Pennsy, I'll roll out of bed, grab breakfast, turn on their Tele and 2–3 hours later I have yet showered nor started my day. DO YOU SEE WHAT I'M SCARED TO HAVE CABLE IN MY OWN PLACE? It will be a test of self control and discipline to get all my creative projects done, daily chores and so forth, while indulging in a little cable television. Hmmmm this should be interesting.

My agency is in the news!

Re-focus my energy

Image
If you read my earlier post, I have been bummed about stuff going on. I decided I need to re-focus my energy and thoughts. I'm going to start cooking more and taking more classes. The dance class has been fun and is coming to an end. I want to take more fun dance classes and get back into painting. Its been over ten years since I picked up a paint brush. Maybe I'll try some type of metal work so I can try to make some jewelry. I have tons of creative/design/sewing projects I want to get done but keep procrastinating. Now is time to turn my studio into a creative shop. This weekend's goal: Chocolate Covered Pretzels and chilling out in various spots to tackle a good book.

The Fun-meter at work sky-rocketed and then crashed a few hours later!

Image
Tony brought in Guitar Hero to ramp up the fun at the office. Its a great way to take a 3-minute break from the projects. I played Katie and Scott and was starting to get the hang of it. This afternoon a few of us were ready for another round when someone said Tony broke the playstation. TONY! The fun meter dropped. Well it was fun while it lasted. Goofball. Okay I'm off to the Lara's for some Atomic Bombshell Pre-show drinks & appetizers. **UPDATE - Tony fixed the game so the fun meter is up y'all! And he stole the photo from this blog...now I'm stealing it back with his version.

Me vs. My Cold

On Monday, the cold that was slowly making its way into my system was taking over. We had so much going on at work. Everyone was swamped, so I said to my enemy "Cold, you can't take me down now...I'm gonna sweat it out!" And I did. I felt like crap most the day Monday and today but I plugged away and focused on the projects. Today was definitely an improvement. I'm feeling better little by little. We worked late last night so when I got off work today I went and grabbed some medicine to help fight this monster. I don't know about you, but I don't often get sick. When I went into my bathroom cabinet Sunday to take some meds, my cold medicine was expired. I opted not to go to dance class since I felt like crap and decided to catch up on laundry. Exciting stuff let me tell ya. Tomorrow night...Atomic Bombshells and hopefully a congested-free Hossler!

Life is a bouncy castle.

Sliding out of the kid jumpy castle Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: I had a busy weekend! Friday I came home to everything covered in plastic and my apartment smelling of paint fumes. They had resurfaced my tub. I was aware I could not use the shower for 48 hours but what about sleeping in the apartment with the fumes and everything wrapped up as if it was a scene from E.T. when they made the house a science lab? I was completely confused as no letter or instructions were left. A friend suggested facing the fan towards the window. When I came back a few hours later, it worked great! My awesome friend Katie let me shower whenever I needed to over the weekend. She also dragged me out of the house knowing my weekend went to shit. On a sucky note, I am absolutely miserable right now. I have come down with a nasty head cold. I've been fighting it and its winning. Plus what really sucked about this weekend... I can no longer hang around someone who means the world to me. Wha

Decor 8

Image
Nothing new, nothing exciting. Cheryl and Kait are gone so things are back to normal. What is exciting is that I have been into reading design-related blogs. I never get through my magazines that pile up so I'm going to save the paper, cancel the subscriptions and simply read my favorite blogs when time permits me to. Decor 8 is my current favorite. Its more interior design than anything but some cute stationary and crafts are shown. I try to check on a daily basis. Her blog list a lot of other blogs and website that are really cool.

L-Towners in Town - Day 1

Cheryl and Kaitlyn arrive this morning. I'm waiting for the call that they are on the shuttle van to my apartment. I'll meet them there, say hello, give them my keys and a mini-tour and head back to the office. I will be posting photos of how I transform my 507sq apartment into a wonderful hotel suite for me and my guest. I can actually fit a double high queen air-mattress in my studio and still have room to walk around. We plan to be out most the time so it should be fine. We just have to stay organized and not let Kaitlyn, the teen throw her stuff everywhere! They'll probably rest up, then hit up Pikes Place market, waterfront, other downtown stuff and then meet me at my office to go to dinner. Hmm I'm craving Jaks so hopefully they'll want to be treated to a yummy steak dinner. But they are the guest, so I'll let them pick what food they are in the mood for.

Rock Out With Your Crockpot Out

Matt and Tony from work made this hysterical video for Matt's upcoming party. Who doesn't love a theme party and they have the best party invitation I have ever seen! You guys are so creative and funny. Love it!!! Check it out.....

Welcome Home Wayne!

Image
Wayne, one of my closest friends out here in Seattle went away for a few weeks. Perfect time for me to plan my revenge. Almost a year ago, Wayne, decorated my cube which was probably the biggest prank he ever pulled on me and I never got him back – for that. hmm what else has he done to me over the past year.... • Convinced a garage guard to let him and a friend into my garage so they can decorate my car. • Put Velcro on my chair wheels so it was stuck to the floor mat. • Removed my chair wheels and hid them. • Stuck bananas under and around my desk. • Booby-trapped my entire cube with magenta cord (that was a good one!). • PUT MY STAPLER IN JELLO! • Crept up behind me a million times while I was busy working trying to scare me. • Asked for my help, making me get out of my seat and walk over to his cube for nothing. • Send me a framed photo of David Hasselhoff to my new office (which we originally pranked someone with months prior) It goes on and on. I have pranked him back but with l
