WOLF PACK L-R: Megan, John, Joy, Kim and Sherah When I was in college, I would frequently hike with friends, mostly in the Delaware Water Gap area along the Appalachian trail. I have lived in the Northwest for almost 7 years and can only count on one hand the amount of hikes I have gone on. Luckily, I have a few friends that have been wanting to get out in the woods also so we started a hiking club called FAT Mouth Wolf Pack. (FAT stands for "foaming at the mouth" since we are all craving the outdoors) WOLF PACK L-R: Kim, Isaac, Joy, John, Sherah, Aimee and Scottie (Photo Credit: Megan Welling) 9 of us ventured out to North Bend, WA (where Twin Peaks was filmed) and hiked Little Si. This was the most amount of people I have ever hiked with. It was 2.2 each way. Most of us were totally on the same pace, taking 3 breaks where my friend Megan, the organizer wished it was harder. She might have to join an additional, more advanced hiking club since the less driv

I almost didn't make it due to a client needing a file ASAP. We all drew the same screw in under 3-minutes. This contest was created because the other colleague from PA was once the PENNSYLVANIA STATE CHAMPION mechanical drawer and he ended up not being able to compete due to client's hot project. PA as a coincidence....I think so!

Picasso was here!

I forgot to have this blog entry "go live." Its been sitting in my blog as a draft. Back in January after receiving a gift membership to the Seattle Art Museum from Cathy, I was able to see the Picasso exhibit before it closed at the end of January. Thank you Cathy!!! Picasso Behind a Window, 1952 (Gelatin silver print) by Robert Doisneau, French, 1912–1994 Sacré-Coeur, Winter 1909–10 (Oil on canvas) by Pablo Picasso He starts out drawing in a traditional patining and then adds the abstraction. Beautiful! Through his years, he had 2 wives and two mistresses. Was he a player or a helpless romantic? I say both!

A "new" blog in the works!!!

Image
If you noticed, I renamed my blog since most post have to do with updating my loved ones. I will continue to write to you, my family; the target audience of this personal blog. I'm making another blog that's not as personal. Pretty much anonymous. It will be targeted to all things I find creative, inspiring or just awesome!!!! The creative blog will be limited 2 or 3 sentences. This blog I will keep personal and update with my happenings. Here is my first post. Now a forewarning: As a grown adult, there are some things I find funny and/or creative that others may find indecent. Art is not about conforming to what society suits as acceptable or not. I appreciate that art is free expression. Artist do what they need to do to express a piece of work and to get the reaction they intended, sometimes taking it to levels others may not find acceptable. An example is Cee-Lo's song "F- you" Radio version is "forget you" but if you listen to the lyrics and

this is A+ public art Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: Someone put all these 8.5x11 sheets of paper on the Cap Hill poster wall. It got me teary-eyed seeing it. (such a sap!) Who are they missing? So simple yet amazing because we all miss a lot of people so this is something everyone can relate to. Art & music that gives me goosebumps gets an A+ in my book. Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: When I get a chance, I will recap on my birthday and how healthmonth (healthmonth.com) is going. But I'm so busy. Tonight I FINALLY got to do laundry since we returned from Orcas. Before I threw a load in, I shot over to see the new art exhibit at vermillion. The lady is good! Not only did she do the interesting sculptures with little people. I loved her paintings! She does these paintings using gouache. I never heard of it but was told Andrew Wyatt uses this chalky material and that makes sense since I was also really drawn to his work. Plans for the next 48 hours go like this: Tomorrow: Dancing on a Valentine Leukemia Fundraiser– Local bands play Depeche Mode songs at the Crocodile (in my old neighborhood) Saturday 9am Yoga 10am Brunch with Wongdoody Capitol Hill gals (thats our neighborhood) 12 Check out a small craft show that a

What do I want for my birthday: to have the day off!!!

Image
That's right, I'm taking the day off for my birthday. Have a 10am Back scrub and massage appointment when I can lounge around in the day spa afterwards. Will probably meet a friend for a late lunch. Find somewhere cozy to read, nap, maybe hit the gym and then meet up with friends for happy hour. Tonight, Wednesday I'm going to see the Get Up Kids, a band I loved over 10years ago who have reunited for another album. Very excited not only for the show but that several other friends are still fans too. So tonight will be some birthday celebrating for sure. I'm a little bias to this song since my name is in it.....
