Do not use Comic Sans font.

The Comic Sans game! Originally uploaded by Nice Paul . This is totally geeky and something I take much amusement in as a graphic designer.... In the design world, Comic Sans is the most annoying font. Its unprofessional and just simply should not be used. (unless you are trying to promote a clown) Someone passed on this info to me today. . . There’s an underground, yet very vocal, movement to ban the Comic Sans font; in fact, the movement’s organizers feel the font “should be confined to pink lettering on little girls' bikes.” The group’s leader, who is known only as Dave, says "it's just not safe for unregulated public use. It should be handled like controlled substances or firearms, and should be used only by licensed professionals in very specific settings.” A funny interview is here. Once topic was this: "There is a website that has images of a gravestone lettered in comic sans." Dave, the movement's organizer replied: "That would only be appro

Going Green

I sold my car! I take the bus and walk everywhere and friends are always are willing to carpool since I live in the heart of the city. But you wonder....how can you go completely without a car...what about trips to Ikea or how will you lug toilet paper and large bags of groceries???? The answer is Flexcar. Seattle has a great program to encourage people to care more about the environment by decreasing the number of cars in a household.– Its called the " One Less Car Challenge ." Since I sold mine and in the process of getting approved for the program, I will get a discount and monthly credit towards Flexcar - a car-sharing Company. Flexcar cars are low-emission, fuel-efficient vehicles. You pay a $35 annual membership and then borrow a car for around $8 an hour. With Seattle's "One Less Car Challenge" I'll be practically riding for free since I plan to use the car less than the program's credit amount given. Flexcar vehicles are parked in various lots a

Sun shining through clouds Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: . I haven't written in here for a while. Hmm what's new? Well since mostly family read this, you are aware I have a cute little nephew named Jacob now. I just put an order for some stuff to go to him that I think his daddy will like. I can't wait to get home to meet Jacob and hang out with Marissa. In unfortunate news, I lost a co-worker a few weeks ago. Someone I worked closely with my entire time at T-Mobile. She chose to end her life at 37yrs old and I'm still having a hard time trying to understand. She had a lot of issues but I never expected her to give up. I've been told she left a journal and letter and this is what she wanted and was planning for sometime. So hopefully she is finally at peace with herself. This weekend was low-key. The weather was really nice all weekend. Saturday I woke up early, did some errands and worked on some freelance. I discovered a great clothing shop ca

Johnnie Pot Pie's Cold Cereal Breakfast Blowout

The subject line sum this event up. My co-worker John was craving sugary cereal and decided to make an event out of it. At 9 a.m. in the kitchen there was a vast assortment of cold cereals and toaster pastries. I had a bowl of Captain Crunch and Golden Crisp. Though I love those cereals, I never buy them. I usually prefer Special K with fresh fruit. The Cereal Blowout was a fun, yummy idea! As John put it, "So many carbohydrates you won't be able to make a fist by noon!" At lunch, a few of us went to a bakery that has yummy sandwiches. My one co-worker and I were adventurous and tried the "Peanut Butter and Stuff" Sandwich. It was cheap and it was yummy!!!! What was the "stuff" you wonder? Peanut Butter Apples Bananas Cranberry Sauce. (not the can type) It was good!!! An interesting combination.
