Chicago was a super fun, green time!!!!!

Eric, Aimee and Katie Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: I spent St. Paddys weekend in Chicago visiting my friends Katie and Eric. They moved to Chicago from Seattle before the new year so it was the perfect reason to come see them in their new city. To sum it up.... Saturday: We drank Sunday: We ate, we did some sightseeing. We shopped. We ate, we drank. Monday (St. Paddy's): they did their work/school stuff, I checked out downtown, got a massage and then met up with some people, we ate, we drank and drank! Tuesday: I couldn't eat anything. I couldn't drink anything. I flew home. I had an amazing massage!!! STUPID ME had a big glass of wine afterwards which wasn't smart! Massage = release toxins. Wine = toxins! We met up with my buddy Wayne and some of his T-Mobile co-workers who came to town on St. Paddys so I got a chance to celebrate the holiday with a Seattle crew before I left the following day and they stayed for some convention. Lack of Posting

Sorry I haven't had the chance to post lately. I've been busy with a bunch of stuff so I haven't had a chance to write even since I left for my Chicago/St.Paddy's trip. I'm a half a month behind on posting! I need to upload all the photos on to Flickr and then will show you all I've been up to. In the meantime, I just found out this happened in Pike Place Market on Saturday. They gathered. They acted all casual. Like nothing was going to happen. They carried backpacks and bags and oddly bulging bellies. Then, at precisely 3:15 PM, Saturday afternoon, CHAOS! FEATHERS! CLEVER PILLOW CASES! “VIOLENCE”! FUSS!

The one day I forgot to bring my camera...

Someone mentioned at work that some scenes for a movie were being filmed in Pike Place Market. When I was walking home, I swung by the location to see what was taking place. Unlike most days, I didn't have my camera so I used my cell phone to snap some shots. I got there just in time to see them start shooting the 1st scene of the movie where the actor Aaron Eckhart (chef from No Reservations with Catherine Zeta Jones) runs to the cab. He had been standing next to me and it caught me off guard when some chick walked up to touch up his makeup. After watching 3 or 4 takes and laughing over the downpour of fake rain with other Seattlelites, I left the crowd of observers and went home. It rarely pours in Seattle so its the magic of Hollywood that makes people think it rains like cats & dogs here. DRIZZLE people...just dark, gloomy and drizzly! However, the fake rain made me miss downpours with thunderstorms and lightning...well when observing from the inside a patio when you can he

Weekend of Time

Image
Last night my friend Nathan and I saw probably one of the worst movies ever... "Semi-Pro" starring Will Ferrell and Woodie Harrison. It was a waste of 2 hours! We almost walked out after many looks at each other wondering if it can get more stupidier. The weather has been great this weekend in Seattle. Next weekend I'll be in Chicago visiting my friends Katie and Eric and celebrating St. Paddy's with them. Good times, I'm sure. I realized that almost every St. Paddy's I have been in a different city and its not planned on purpose except for last year's. I have spent St. Paddy's in Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, BOSTON (the craziest time!), NYC/Hoboken, Baltimore, the Poconos, Levittown and Philly. (oh the Erin Express in Philly is always a great time!!) I have yet to see the "Green River" for St. Paddy's so its the perfect time to see Katie, Eric and their dog Floyd in their new city.

Some recent youtube favorites......

YouTube's famous Dramatic Prairie Dog If you are on Youtube, you can see there has been remakes of the video. Someone in Seattle made this one, which is funny and features my nieghbor, the Space Needle. And the Jimmy Kimmel pranks are a riot... it started with his typical end of the show punchline..."Sprry Matt Damon, we didn't have time to get you on tonight"..he uses this at the end of every show as his closing line. Matt Damon is finally on the show to promote the movie, the Departed and once he is finally seated on the sofa, Jimmy apoligizes and says there are out of time. Some say it was set up and is a joke but I think Matt Damon looks really ticked of. Decide for yourself... Then Matt Damon gets back at Jimmy with the help of Jimmy's girlfriend..... (extra info... Jimmy Kimmel's long-term girlfriend is the over-the top, too much to handle comedian, Sarah Silverman) Then this was Jim's response...

Tonight, Tomorrow The Sun will come out Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the sun will come out tomorrow. (Thats for Cathy!) Tonight is the final of Project Runway on Bravo. I appreciate design of all kinds, including fashion so I love tuning in every week to see what these talented designers create. Tomorrow is our second adventure to "Adult Skate Night" at a local skating rink. It’s awesome—like a Christopher Guest movie. My co-worker Lara has nicknames for the "Regulars".... Mr. Olympic flaunting his figure skating moves breaking it down to some horrible hip-hop. The viewing enjoyment includes Skate King regulars Internet Bride, Day-glo Lady, Rat Tail and chain and many, many more. Sad thing is that I know exactly which regulars she is referring to. This time around, I WILL bring my camera.

I usually shop at Whole Foods since its the closest food store near my apartment. Tonight I decided to venture to the other foodstore in a nearby neighborhood called "QFC". I keep referring to it as "QVC" by accident. Big difference!

Thin Mints are like crack

Image
Okay, I've never had crack and never will but I think Girl Scout cookies have a similar affect on people. Today at lunch, I sat near an assortment of girl scout cookies that a co-worker brought in to sell for her daughter. In the past, I can eat 2 or 3 cookies and put the box down. Co-workers were amazed I have that type of control. However by the time lunch was over, I was scrounging through my purse so I can buy one box of Thin Mints. Good thing I have a bus pass or else I would not have change for my commute home!
