I was not naked in the park

Image
My friend Megan took this photo at the local park. I had on a strappless dress and she asked me if I wanted the silly puppy blanket she just got at Value Village. I thought she should make it into a dress. Megan's blanket should be a dress After park times, I headed to my friend Dave's for a barbeque with the Pixels. Dave FLATMAN Ingo Andy We only stayed for a little bit and then headed to Susie and Cory's at the other end of my neighborhood which was much more low-key and included our favorite one year old, Niko. It was a low-key weekend for me but ended with this beautiful sunset and a nice walk home. Roof view from Summit and Roy

Farmers market is great cooking motivation.

Farmers Market is great cooking motivation. , a photo by ::: a i m e e ::: on Flickr. I ventured over to the neighborhood farmer's market this morning. You don't get the grocery store deals but I love supporting the locals and shopped wisely. I bought some things there and then headed to the grocery store later. At the market, I was really impressed with the potato and tomato varieties compared to the typical ones at the grocery store. One thing I loved was how vendors had a description under each of the varieties just like a wine store would. The tomatoes I bought read "similar to the jersey tomato." They nailed it! It was the best tomato I have had out here. I wish I bought more because tonight one tasted perfect with a little french dressing. The fresh lemonade and run in with friends was a nice way to kick off the day. The $5 mixed bouquet ended up in 3 vases at home. The herbs are an experiment. I like using parsley, cilantro and basil so for $7 I bought th

Rough day in Apt. 206

WDCW people party and Thursday night was the 1st WD retirement party. A few of us went out for dinner after drinks and shared 2 more bottles of wine. Stayed up way past my bedtime and woke up to my water off due to a broken pipe. Not having time to run to my gym, I got creative and freshened up using a bowl and all the water in my Britta pitcher. It was a rough way to start the day. Despite how crappy I felt, I was happy to hear the flowers I sent my folks for their anniversary turned out a success. Later tonight while at my buddy Brandon's birthday, we realized he turned 39, which means he was born on my parent's wedding day! Now I'll never forget his birthday. I'm looking forward to this weekend. Little projects at home and more SIFF movies. Low-key seems right after last night's poor decisions.

Just a slight hosiery addiction.

Just a slight hosiery addiction. I , a photo by ::: a i m e e ::: on Flickr. Cathy B, I want to thank you for the money from Christmas because part of that went to buying these. I love sockdreams.com for their reasonably priced unique tights that you can't just find in Macy's which is my typical go to for such. In Seattle, we must layer and that means I have gotten use to mixing and matching my tights and kneesocks or where just one or the other. Thanks Cathy! Xoxo

Clever ideas

8:36- Cuddled with my Mr. Reading this beautiful book of letters to my kid- from our urban family. , a photo by Kellianna on Flickr. My friend Carinna asked people to write a letter to baby Niko at Kellianne and Buster's baby shower a year ago. During the last few months, Carinna entered those letters into an online album (which she bought as a deal on groupon) and collected photos from various friend's flickr pages to make an album from the Benson's Urban Family. The final product was beautiful and extremely touching.

Seattle Sun

This week has been a normal week with the weather finally taking a nice turn.  Today I spend several hours laying on my blanket in the park with a few friends where GREAT people watching was happening.  One interpretive dancer, a guy trying to climb a tree. 15 teens post-Pot parade drinking a clear bag of rose wine and saying knarly a lot. Lots of puppies and that odd thing called sunshine.   Tonight I'm going to dinner with April and Asa at Poquito, the new mexican place near me with those yummy yam tacos and then heading to a bar called the Twilight for a friend's 30th birthday. Oh to be 30 again. :) I'm really glad the sun was out today and I didn't have to wear a jacket.

Crashing the family vacation

ALL PHOTOS AT:  2011.05 Crashing their family vacation , a set on Flickr. Knowing my family was spending a week in the warm Florida sunshine to go to Disney, I used a reward flight to join their vacation for a few days. It was a surprise for the kids and was a really great time. Aerosmith rollercoaster was my favorite. Its not just a theme park, its an experience where lines weren't that bad. Disney does a great job controlling the masses, keeping you entertained in line, sometimes with interactive games and keeping you cool in the hot weather. Marissa and I now have a Secret Pig Tail club. There is a secret handshake. Some silly name and strict rules to join. ;) The kids rode everything that their height allowed them to. They were such good sports about riding Splash mountain, Haunted Mansion and Thunder Mountain. I'm bummed Space Mountain shut down when we made it into the main room. I would have loved to see how Marissa did on that. I believe they were going back tod

Asa's Bass Birthday

April, Scottie, me, Ingo and Asa, the birthday boy Asa Bass Organ Karaoke 23 , a photo by &y on Flickr. Bass as in a fish, not as in the base of a drum. It was Asa's birthday and it was a blast for a Thursday night. Love my friends. Glad I went out. April brought hats and snacks to her man's birthday party. We were also celebrating the eve of domestic partnership. The following day April and Asa move in together, closer to all of us on the hill. I envision a great summer. Spring has arrived

I love my ride - Spring 2011 , a photo by ::: a i m e e ::: on Flickr. The weather has been great in Seattle the last few days...finally! I have been trying to ride my scooter as much as possible but I'm excited to get away for a few days. I never cared for heat and the sunshine but the Seattle damp Winter and Spring up to now have me craving a warm summer day. It will be great to spend a few vacation days with family in Florida.

Be careful with the "out sick" notifications

A co-worker is out sick today and because he added humor to his message, someone notified the entire agency... FYI, from "Name-protected co-worker": “I'm really sick today and staying home. Got some horrible stomach bug.  I can do this Wednesday or Thursday if I stop leaking from all holes.” Thanks a lot to the co-worker who forwarded it to the ENTIRE agency. Gross!
