Dream A Little Dream: I'm an Astronaut!

Image
Had a very odd dream last night. My friend Scottie and I were in outer space, floating around in normal clothes. At the bottom of space was an astronaut lounge that looked like a living room from the 1960's. I was laying on a blue shag carpet and thought, "Ewe, they probably don't get anyone in here to clean much" and I moved to a chair that was mounted to the floor....of outer space. ha ha ODD! Then I went to bed in what was supposedly my grandma's house....in space. I was sharing the twin bed with a friend and I couldn't settle to sleep. Kept forgetting my jewelry was on and tossing and turning in this all white, narrow room. Kind of looked like a hallway, just wide enough for the twin bed....in outer space. ODD!

Quick recap #5: I met little Niko Crane Benson

Image
My friends Buster and Kellianne welcomed Niko Crane Benson on Saturday, May 15th. Unlike a lot of friends and family pregnancies, we got to witness their experience up close and personal because they did a great job blogging about it. I have friends and co-workers who are expecting, that have never met the Benson and rave about how great their blog is. They are both great writers with lots of humor, emotion and honesty in Zero to Baby . I love that they and Niko have surnames. Milton, Esther and baby Axelrod. Check it out. Its great. Rather than having a bunch of people showing up randomly, the y emailed out a calendar asking friends to let them know when we want to visit and we are welcome to bring food on the day we come. Mealbaby.com is a clever way since in this day & age, many of us don't have freezer space or even an extra freezer like our grandparents did to store all the offerings ones may receive. Mealbaby gives friends and family the opportunity to visit on days the

Quick recap #4: Seattle International Film Festival

Image
WONGDOODY's client SIFF (The Seattle International Film Festival) is in full effect of its 2010 festival. They give us several passes for our office to share. The last two years I have had the chance to see a bunch of films for free and I LOVE IT!!! It started a week ago and so far I have seen 4 films. I'm hoping to see at least 2 or 3 more over the holiday weekend. I'm very proud of WONGDOODY and the other agencies who helped advertise the annual event. Here are three posters my co-workers (Tony. Mark "Monkey", Jessica and several others) create and a SUPER COOL trailer that an agency called Ohhello.tv created based off of my coworkers' concept. A bunch of WONGDOODY peeps and several friends, including myself attended the opening night gala which was PACKED. See image below. It was fun but champagne should never be free. I was hurting at work the next day. I love their website, which helps me figure out and save which movies I hope to see. What I don't m

Quick recap #2: I love being on a boat

I got to go out for a little boat ride with my friend a few weekend's ago. The weather was amazing and not too many boats were out. So much fun!

Quick recap #1: Neighborhood Festival Planning

Image
Been really busy helping my neighborhood organize its 1st ever Street Fair! Its going to be called the Seattle Founders Day Festival taking place on August 14th & 15th. This Belltown festival will be more than a street fair, more than a block party. With actors in costume roaming the street, history booths and various organizations, live music, local crafts and much more in the works. (Click on poster to see a full-size version) Though the city has given some funding and approval to close the street down for the event, this weekend we are having a fundraiser for the festival. Lots of lighting, security and so forth that will need to be paid for when having a 2-day event. This is a great way for our unique community to come together and celebrate its history, have fun together and hopefully bring more business to all the shops and services in my Belltown neighborhood.

Who needs a car?

My friend Carinna had a clothing swap last weekend. It was great because I spent the morning going through my closet and filled a backpack and a big bag full of clothes. As shown below, I strapped the big bag to my bike and was on my way. Unfortunatley there wasn't a big turnout so Caeinna was left with a lot of clothes to donate but it was a great reason to clean out my closet and now I'm in the mood to get rid of more stuff. I also scored a few cute items from the swap.

We went to Hooters

They made this "elephant" hat for my friend's birthday.
