Its snowing in Seattle

Okay, so I thought moving out here would be escaping the bitter East coast winters. Oddly enough the last two weeks have been cold and it snowed. Downtown Seattle is in a bubble where we only got about an inch or less, where the suburbs and outskirts of the city got several inches and ice. The cold weather is leaving and now the 40 degree and rain will return. It was nice to see snow. Snow in weather thats not too cold, that you could walk around in. (especially when this odd weather for the NW only last a few days or sporadically)

Saturday morning I opened my window to say hello to the space needle and it was snowing. It was so pretty. I decided to stick to my plan and headed outside to run some errands. I walked to the band, the pharmacy and then met my friends for brunch. We sat in the crocodile cafe eating food and watching the snow fall. A lot of people were out n' about, walking their dogs, window shopping. It was pretty cool. Now I just want spring to come!

I have been super busy but all is good. I need up update my blog but in the meantime, here is a little video of my favorite neighborhood coffee shop. A little farther than UPtown Espresso but I simply like being here. Its in the heart of Belltown, near some of my favorite bars so I run into a lot of people I know. I love the environment and the super nice staff. On the night I had to study for my motorcycle license, after spending the hot summer day learning how to ride in an unshaded parking lot, Jesse, one of the owners gifted me a piece of coconut cake saying I needed "brain food" since he knew I was exhausted. See, now that's a small business I want to support.

What happened in May, you ask? Or didn't ask.

Its been a while since I posted here. May was an insanely busy but AMAZING. There was the Highline High School fundraiser dinner. I never recalled my high school having fundraisers and since I don't have kids, I told Carinna I would join her for her school's fundraiser auction/dinner. It was fun, I won a bottle of nice wine and 3 of us bid on the "Taste of Highline dinner" where several moms and staff would make meals passed down from their families. We were able to invite up to 10 friends. There was Italian, Somalian, Soul, Mexican, and Hawaiian. There may have been another but I forget. It was sooooo yummy and was hosted at a house that was on Lake Burien. They told us there may be a boat involved. The boat turned out to be a battery operated dock that quietly moved in the water.
