Fun Cabin Times on Orcas Island – Jan 28–30, 2011
West Beach Resort has become a tradition to some of my Seattle friends. This was my 1st year and I'm very happy they invited me to come along. This where Josh, Carinna, Megan, Samantha, April, Asa, Jim, Brett, Lucy and I are went for the weekend. Bummed the Pixels, Scottie and a bunch of others couldn't join us. Pixels were in Los Angeles because Andy had to go down there for work. Ingo followed him for the sunshine.
Here are more photos from Josh's fantastic photos

and I posted the few I took and threw them in my January set.
I stayed in cottage #18 but we also had the Farmhouse. Plenty of space. I didn't take enough photos BUT was with two really good photographers and a house-full of 8:36ers who take a lot of photos.
When I walk across the way to the other house, a HUGE fat cat came up and walked with me. I named him "Fatty" right on the spot. When I went inside, he went around back on to the porch, and was watching us from the sliding doors. Too funny.
Friday night we went out to dinner in the VERY LITTLE town then retired to the house to play Catch Phrase and ended up having a spontaneous wig party with my wig box. I had i on my lap and when it felt right, I started throwing random headgear, glasses and assessories to everyone in the room. Lots of laughs. Then with a long ribbon, I grabbed a kitchen spatula and made a homemade "LA Gear Get In Shape Girl Dancing Ribbon." It was a fun night!
Saturday, April made a delicious brunch for us and I made my veggie garden spread for bagels and all day snacking. It was drizzling and really cold. I went for a little walk and met Fatty's cousin, another fat furry cat. AND then a big furry dog came along that is probably Fatty's friend. Fatty's big white friend loved Carinna. The majority of the day was spend reading, playing cards and napping. A GREAT relaxing day. That night chef April prepared another meal that we all pitched in to help or clean up.
Afterwards we watched the amazing stop-action beautifully made movie, The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Carinna had us play a drinking game to it. Every time Mr. Fox made his clicking sound, they talked about the hard cider or any animals acted like an actual animal, we drank!
Sunday, April magically whipped up brunch with all the leftovers, along with bagels & my spread. We read, packed and took a few group photos in the bitter cold before heading to the ferry at 1pm. April & Asa stayed an extra day since there was a 3rd night free deal. The rest of us headed back to the mainland.
It was a great trip!!!!
