Out with the old and in with the new

2009 kind of sucked. Long hours at work, lay-offs at working of people who are really missed around the office, lame love-life with either non-existent, nothing of substance or consistency, divorces and separations of loved ones, the economy sucking BIG TIME and slacking on my yoga practice the entire year.

On a happy note, I found a new love in the scooter life. I love my symba and was happy to take it for a ride on January 2nd. Many great nights of dancing at monthly soul nights and lots of great parties throughout the year. Plus, Seattle has an amazing crafting, small business scene that inspires me to find my niche.

New Years Eve was fun though I am not a fan of the pressured holiday. Since I just got back to town and wasn't sure what to wear to the day of the New Years Eve party, I offered to take a role that they needed to filll. I had to dress as a bird and for the 1st hour guide people to the elevator for the 4th floor party. No bid deal. I was like a tin showgirl.

Here are some photos of me dressed as a bird from the Labyinth New Years Eve...

Its the New Years day that matters most to me and though New Years was a good time, New years day was the BEST New Years day EVER.

Starting the new year rift w/ champagne, hot cocoa w/ fireball whiskey
New Years Day I met my friend Matt and Scottie for our weekly "1pm Sunday Brunch" at Del Rey even though it was Friday. Matt said he was gonna spread the word and he succeeded. We had 45 people come & go within a few hours span, friends and now some new friends. WE STAYED THERE PARTYING UNTIL 8:45pm. Leg Wrestling, Balloon tossing, "My Balloon" challenging and so forth took place. I had brunch and dinner there. A few of us then ventured to the shittiest bar in my hood called Kelly's for a beer, then Lava Lounge for shuffleboard, finishing the night with drinks at Bathtub Gin. I'm glad I made no plans that day as we all just rolled with it and had a blast. One guy said the next day that he had a "funover" from laughing so much the day prior. Here are some pictures.
