Robern Co-workers reunite in Seattle

Image
Fri, May 16, 2008 at 1:12am Originally uploaded by McLeod Residence Photobooth My old co-worker Mick from Robern, who is also no longer with Robern and living in Baltimore is out here for business. I haven't seen him in 7 years and we both are still the same! We went out for a few drinks last night and I'll be showing him around Seattle tomorrow. Its only one day to see the city, so I'll sweep him through the library (because of its architecture) West Seattle, Ballard Locks, the troll and just about as much as we run into. Its so nice out that it would be cool to go kayaking. We'll see.

Photos from meeting his Holiness

Image
I mentioned in a previous blog how the main group from my company that worked on the Seeds of Compassion account were fortunate enough to be invited to meet the Dalai Lama. I happened to be volunteering at the location and the secret service asked me, with very strict instruction to run downstairs to greet my co-workers and keep an eye them and not let them move until I get further instruction. With that, to my surprise I got to also greet his Holiness. I was not sure what was going to happen AND YOU CAN TELL by my photo. The photo was obviously taken in-between our bow and shaking hands. I did make eye contact with him a second before and after. In greeting order from Right to Left: Tracy Wong, Mrs. Wong, Pat Doody, Bri, Amy, Glenn, Steve, Dax, Jeremy, Tony, Emily, Nick, Janelle, Kenta, and I

ouch! Originally uploaded by ::: a i m e e ::: Accidents happen no matter how silly they may seem. I was the poster child last week for silly accidents. I cut my 2 fingers shaving! STUPID! But it made for a lot of jokes in the office. Yes I know there are razors with handles. Yes it was one of those typical fool-proof Venus razors. No I did not use a classic razor No unfortunately this was not an X-acto knife accident in the paste-up room. Last thursday morning i was shaving my legs while lathering my leg with foam and when i pulled the razor away, i knicked my other hand! Blood was shooting out everywhere, especially from my index finger. My shower looked like the scene from phycho. It was a lot of blood, coming fast and the water made it burn!!! I stood in the shower with my one hand holding the other thinking "now what?" I got out of the shower to grab bandaids from the cabinet and I was fine until i looked in the mirror. I was trying to put a bandage on each fi...

out n about

This week has been a busy one!!!!! Along with work, I have had some interesting social events. Monday Ryan was in town touring with Jack White's band the Raconteurs. Him and his fellow crew members wore a "uniform."(SEE PHOTO) I never saw Ryan so dressed up. He looked sharp! I'll post a photo soon! That night reminded me that I am a lucky person. I don't know how things turn out the way they do but I am fortunate to have the experience and situations that have allowed me to meet some amazing people. (especially musicians who top my list) This week, Ryan introduced me to Jack White and Jack was oddly curious of my life in Seattle vs. Philly. I always thought he would be a dick but I was completely wrong! He was so sweet that by the time our conversation ended, I was totally smitten. Super nice guy. I always loved his bluesy, southern rock style but seeing him rock out on the guitar blew my mind! He will be a legend. His two bands are doing great, he did an album...

I thought the fine print was the best part.

I'm craving Wawa

Image
I just got home and I'm hunrgy. I'm craving wawa so bad right now. If I was in a Wawa area, I would order a Shortie with smoked turkey, mayo, lettuce, american cheese and pepper. West coast doesn't make hoagies like back east. Its all about the rolls and the rolls stink out here. Cold cuts don't even taste the same so I don't bother. The one hoagie-like sandwich I do get out here has avocado spread & no meat so though it is yummy... i don't consider it a hoagie because East Coast hoagie - meat + Avocado doesn't make sense.
