Crashing the family vacation
Knowing my family was spending a week in the warm Florida sunshine to go to Disney, I used a reward flight to join their vacation for a few days. It was a surprise for the kids and was a really great time. Aerosmith rollercoaster was my favorite. Its not just a theme park, its an experience where lines weren't that bad. Disney does a great job controlling the masses, keeping you entertained in line, sometimes with interactive games and keeping you cool in the hot weather.
Marissa and I now have a Secret Pig Tail club. There is a secret handshake. Some silly name and strict rules to join. ;)
The kids rode everything that their height allowed them to. They were such good sports about riding Splash mountain, Haunted Mansion and Thunder Mountain. I'm bummed Space Mountain shut down when we made it into the main room. I would have loved to see how Marissa did on that. I believe they were going back today since they had all week to jump around with their "Hopper Passes".
I came back without a tan but with about 20 mosquito bites from evening hours lounging in the courtyard or by the pool.
Highlights were riding the pitch-black Rock N Roll coaster, going up side down and doing cork-screws with Aerosmith blasting through the speakers with dad by my side and also when Marissa was asleep on my lap on a bus ride home. Pretty soon she will too big to fit on my lap.
Let's not forget the same bus ride where Mom and Cathy B stood nearby complaining about their feet hurting so bad when shortly after we discovered the lady near them that just got off the bus was missing a shoe. Surprised she didn't say "Your feet hurt? At least you have both your shoes!"
Overall, it was a great trip and I wish I stayed at least one more day.
