Ryan in his "cubicle"

Last weekend, Ryan came to town with the Arcade Fire. I first saw them 3 years ago. They are a super fun Canadian band with around 8-10 people who rotate instruments and put on one of the most lively performances out there today!

Ryan got to spend a day and a half in Seattle. Saturday night I took him and his crew buddy Donnelley to the Whiskey Bar and 5 points Cafe.

Sunday I met him and his other crew buddy Chris at their hotel and asked them if they have been to the library. Odd question right?

Why in the hell would they care to go into a library.... well Seattle's central library which was across from Ryan's hotel is one of the most remarkable and unique architecture structures in the United States.
Ryan and Chris were amazed, especially with the red meeting corrider. If you haven't been there and come out to visit me...remind me and I'll take you there.

We then ventured down to the waterfront where they got to be in another building they never thought they would walk into...an office with cubicles. I had pointed out my building and Chris got excited to see cubicles so I gave them a quick mini tour of Wongdoody. Seemed like they were more amazed with everyone personalizing their cubicle spaces than the view. They said it was like the movies and were reciting lines from "Office Space." Ryan insisted on taking a photo of me in my cube.

After the office, we roamed to various spots around the city and ended the day with a yummy dinner at McCormick and Smitts.

Despite the razy work schedule, Monday night I HAD to leave the office by 5 to head to the Arcade Fire show. My friend Tanya from work was my guest. I knew she would appreciate the VIP pass since she is a huge fan of Arcade Fire and the other band Ryan tours for, Sig Ros...so I wanted her to meet him. I have met a lot of great people in Seattle but only a select few who share the same passion for rock/indie rock music like me. IT WAS AN AMAZING SHOW!!! (side note... as I sit here in the coffee shop...the barista is playing their music.)

The show was held on a college campus so it was run a little differently. We ended up being able to get Mark and Claudio backstage.

After the show, we drank and mixed and mingled while Ryan took care of his business. SUPER nice group of talented people. I had met a few prior to their performance so they were super friendly when we walked into the dressing room. These people are on the road for months on end so its probably refreshing to meet new faces and be able to chill out outside of the tour bus. I enjoyed their company and wish they didn't have to pull out so soon to head to the next city.

Here are some photos from the show:
