My friend Jules wanted to spend his birthday cooking. Coming from a gal who is not natural in the kitchen this sounded INSANE but Jules and his friend Inti are foodies and love to cool multi-course meals. 8 of Jules friends enjoyed a 9-course meal and many bottles of wine & champagne. I must say...Champagne with Black Current Syrup was amazing!!!!! If you like Champagne, you should try it! Below is a listing of the courses. Every plate was one serving. It was just enough of everything. I'll try anything once and walked away enjoying the amazing food combinations. Truffle Popcorn: Very EASY! Hard to stop eating!!! Truffle salt & butter added to air-popped popcorn Citrus Cured Salmon with Curried Yogurt Avocado Grapefruit Crab Verrine Tangerine-Sage Shot Arugula & Brussels Sprouts Salad with Crispy Prosciutto and Parmesan Butternut Squash Soup with Garlic Croutons Seared Bay Scallop With Minted Pea Puree & Mint Oil Braised Oxtail Sliders with Root Vegetable Gratin Man...

Till Death Do We Sparkle

Image
Two weekends ago I went to a theme party.... A fake wedding between two friends. Everyone was encourage to dress for a wedding, where gals were invited to wear bridesmaid dresses. I wore my 17-year old prom dress. The one I designed and had Linda Corcoran make. Not sure if whomever is reading this is familiar with burlesque. Its the Art of the tease. I love Burlesue as most routines are usually comedy related and its amazing all the time and dedication that goes into planning the entertaining routines. A male burlesque performer called Ultra was the “dad” in the fake wedding and after he walked Kindra down the aisle, he performed a funny adult-rated performance to that super cheesye popular wedding song “Butterfly Kisses.” It was soooo twisted that it was so good! So gross for him to be performing this song to his pretend daughter. Haha Then maid of dishonor acted disorderly and performed a wild routine. Then there were a couple wedding objections and then a huge dancy party reception...

The world may love them, but I sure don't.

I made fun of my friend Katie for having a snuggie so what does she get me for my birthday.... the last thing I could ever want....a snuggie. So I keep it at work and let anyone who is cold borrow it, as long as we can get a snapshot. We'll see how this set grows.

The Seattle Show

What are these photos you ask? Last night, me and my WONGDOODY associates attended the Seattle Show. The Seattle Show honors the best advertising work created in Seattle, show local clients that national-caliber work is being created right here and help the best agencies and firms recruit top people. They had a photobooth and well us there are several of us WONGDOODYites who are total hams!

The things you do for a friend's birthday! Someday My Drink Will Come Originally uploaded by beatnikside My friend Geoff always thought that the ultimate burlesque would be a disney one as he loves going down to Disneyland as much as possible. I DID NOT PERFORM but told his girlfriend Lorien and other party planner, my friend Jessica that I would dress up for the occasion. (Lorien is the one who did the art in my last post) So I was Snow White, setting up the stage for each performer. More photos are to come. Geoff's photo caption says.... My friends Lexi (Alice) and Aimee (Snow White) play to my base instincts at the best goddamn birthday party I've ever had. Geoff is adding photos to flickr as I update this. Here is a his slideshow from his birthday party:
