Mom and Dad visit Seattle and brought some sunshine

I haven't had time to blog since I moved. I'm waiting for additional closet storage so I can unpack some more things. Mom and Dad came out to visit a few weekends ago and we had a nice weekend. It was raining NONSTOP prior to their arrival so I was really happy it didn't rain at all while they were here.

We did a food tour, went dancing at my favorite monthly event, Emerald City Soul Club, we roamed along the Seattle waterfront, and took a drive out AND ferry to the Olympic Peninsula to the town of Port Townsend. Unfortunately I didn't take a lot of photos but have them posted on my flickr. Click on their photo to see more.

It was a nice low-key time.
Now they are home and I'm here and we are all back in the swing of things.

Besides moving, working long hours and having the parents visit. I got a chance to go to a local fair with some of my coworkers. Photos in my flickr. We left work for 5 hours to shuttle down to the country lands, ride some rides, eat some food, see a bunch of animals and ride some more. Country life in WA is A LOT different than us urban folks. Unfortunately my sinuses were bothering me that day and rides do not work well with sinus headaches. I had to stop after a while which I was bummed about.

This week things start to pick the pace ...

Tomorrow, 7 friends and I are going to see the band Arcade Fire in suite seats at the local arena. For $11 more we get to lounge in a suite with a cash bar than having my body ache for 2-days after being on my toes and lifting my head trying to see during an entire concert.

Thursday, my friend Chris Jones is part of a benefit Fashion Show. Friday, I'm taking part in a scooter gathering and then meeting friends for late night miniature golf thats more interactive, hands on and destructive than typical putt-putt. Its called Smashputt.

The good thing is that we didn't have to work long hours this week. That's great! Next up is more sewing projects and sending out baby gifts to future parents - Kurt & Stacie and Allegra.

I think my craft area now has room for a used dress form. I would love to be able to find one thats my size so I can pin and alter outfits.
